About Me
Hello, and welcome! I’m Paris Congrave, a dedicated and compassionate psychotherapist with a passion for helping individuals navigate the challenges of long-term health conditions.
With 14 years of experience in the NHS, I specialise in using evidence-based CBT techniques to support clients in managing the mental and emotional impacts of chronic illnesses, from coping with symptoms to adjusting to lifestyle changes.
I understand that living with a long-term condition can feel overwhelming, not just physically, but emotionally as well. My approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and the belief that change is always possible. Through tailored CBT strategies, I help clients build resilience, improve mental well-being, and regain a sense of control over their lives.
Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or other emotional difficulties related to a long-term health condition, I’m here to support you in developing practical tools to improve your mental health and quality of life.
I take a holistic and client-centred approach to therapy, ensuring that the treatment fits your unique needs, goals, and circumstances. If you're looking to make meaningful changes and live a fulfilling life despite the challenges you face, I’d be honoured to work with you on your journey.
Feel free to reach out for a consultation, and let's start working together to create a path forward.
Experience
I have worked for the NHS for the past 14 years in a number of different services across the UK. I have had placements at the Centre of Anxiety Disorders and Trauma (CADAT) and the Psychological Medicine Department at Kings College Hospital London. I currently work in a busy NHS Talking Therapies service as a senior CBT therapist and I lead the development of the Long Term Conditions pathway.
This experience means when you work with me, you are working with a clinician who has a wide reaching experience in a diverse client group and is currently working at the forefront of therapy in the NHS.
